Six AirMaster AM500 units have been specified by consulting engineers SpencerMayes as part of a wider refurbishment of areas of the college. Cheltenham College is one of the UK’s leading co-educational independent schools for both day and boarding. The College has a strong commitment to minimising its environmental impact so a key criterion for the new ventilation was that it should be energy-efficient. Each AirMaster unit will provide Demand Controlled Ventilation (DCV), using carbon dioxide levels as a metric for IAQ. CO2 sensors will be used in each space to monitor air quality, so that the ventilation rate can be modified accordingly using AirMaster’s inverter controlled EC fans. In this way, IAQ levels are maintained with minimum energy consumption.
