Another happy group of SAV students complete our HIU training

This week we welcomed engineers from Maintracts Services who attended our practical product training on Heat Interface Units led by some of our SAV Senior Engineers. The Maintracts group are one of many companies emphasising the importance of being conversant with modern communal/district heating installations and the correct maintenance/servicing of heat interface units (HIUs). SAV are able to provide them with the confidence and knowledge required to handle them and understand why HIU projects involving Danfoss FlatStation HIUs that are carried out by trained installers are generally rewarded with a noticeably more successful outcome. The Maintracts engineers attended an HIU training course at our facility in Woking, in preparation for servicing and commissioning installations at a number of developments in South West London which utilise communal/district heating using SAV’s Danfoss FlatStation HIUs.

Senior Maintracts Heating Engineer Toby Organ, who was among the course attendees adds:

“Our hands-on training was all about installing and servicing Heat Interface Units in the most efficient way possible, which will prove vital for us as we begin to undertake more work in large apartment complexes with multiple dwellings where central boilers (rather than a boiler fitted in each dwelling) is preferred. The training covered everything from the key differences between different types of Danfoss HIUs, anticipating what will be required and what to expect as well as how to set up temperature controls, flow testing, and a step-by-by step approach to service and maintenance.

We all left feeling confident and assured that we are able to deal successfully with ongoing service and maintenance. I found the problem-solving exercises particularly useful – they covered common issues that may occur on-site and how best to ensure fast resolution of them.”
